Gavin Struthers

Regional Vice President for APJ at Sophos

Based in Singapore, Gavin Struthers is the Regional Vice President for APJ at Sophos. Gavin joined the business in 2019, and leads sales and marketing initiatives across the region with a focus on driving and sustaining growth. Having previously worked at McAfee, Gavin passionately believes in the power of effective cybersecurity to make the world a safer place, and enjoys the challenge of working in a complex industry and a vibrant region.

Gavin has worked internationally throughout his career – delivering high-performance, culture-centred initiatives across five countries, on three different continents. A champion of diversity and inclusion, Gavin believes transparency and people hold the key to positive business outcomes. As such, Gavin puts human connection at the core of his approach to leadership alongside a strong focus on customer engagement, channel excellence and sales execution.

In addition to his role at Sophos, Gavin is an adviser to the cyber awareness organisation Blue Phish. He is also a family man, an avid cyclist, and enjoys reading the latest books on organisational psychology and business.

Gavin holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Commerce and Information Systems from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

Matt Fairbanks

Chief Marketing Officer

Matt Fairbanks joined Sophos in 2012 as chief marketing officer (CMO). He is responsible for the company’s global marketing strategy, market development, and go-to-market activities. Prior to Sophos, he served as senior vice president of marketing at McAfee, leading go-to-market activities for the company’s business security products and solutions.

Previously, he served as vice president of product marketing at Citrix, with responsibility for their Xen virtualization and application delivery product lines. He also held senior marketing and product management roles at Symantec, Veritas, and Seagate. At Symantec, he defined go-to-market strategies for a $2.0 billion software product family and led product and campaign marketing for the entire “Veritas” software portfolio. At Veritas, he served as senior director of product marketing, where he defined and executed product marketing initiatives for a $1.0 billion software product family.

Matt has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
